Artisan(al)

An unregulated marketing descriptor with no legal or codified definition in most markets, unlike genuinely protected terms such as AVPN's Verace Pizza Napoletana certification or the EU's Traditional Speciality Guaranteed status. 'Artisan' or 'artisanal' can be applied to any pizza regardless of method, ingredients, or oven type, and its use alone is not evidence of any particular technique or tradition.
